It's not just about pictures! Our goal is to be sure that your wedding pictures look the way you envisioned them. We want you to be comfortable with us and our style and our... hmm... unusual?... approach to client relationships!
We've been doing this for a long time... so long that, while we are always prepared to an extent most photographers and videographers wouldn't even dream of, we are always able to be relaxed and friendly, no matter what the pressure.
What do we mean by preparation? Every piece of equipment that is brought to your wedding is stripped, cleaned and checked on the evening prior to your big day and even then we have back-ups for back-ups! Equipment failure will never have an impact on your images!
Now, what do we mean by an "unusual" approach to client relationships? Our initial meeting is always relaxed... no "closing". We want you to go home and talk about us and decide if we are right for both of you. And, yes, you will meet with the people who will work your day, not sales people.
Once you hire us, we're going to work with you by visiting your photography location(s) prior to the wedding day to take some "test shots". This way you get a direct sense of how we work (we're funny... you smile!!) and, after we email you the images, you can see the results of our work with you as our subjects, not just random couples in a sample book! You can tell us what you do and don't like about yourselves (I hate my left profile!!... ooh, that it should be so easy!) and which backgrounds work best for you.
Why are we funny? Because we want that natural smile... not that artificial "OK I'm happy now" smirk! Will you find us funny? On your wedding day we don't have to be stand-up comics... any reason to laugh is a good way to relieve that pressure that you're feeling... what pressure, you say? Wait till the day!
Who is this "we" who are so funny? It's Tony and Evelyn who've worked together for fifteen years and act like they've been married for twenty. "Marry him?!" (quote Evelyn) "Not if he really was the last guy on earth". But together we're better photographers. It's Maritza and Angela and Marie who are crazy enough to stick around because they love to photograph weddings... no, really!
What else do we bring? Maps for lost limo drivers who never heard of GPS! Dry cleaning materials for brides who spill coffee or red wine on the dress prior to the ceremony (yes, it's actually happened and we did get it off!). Spare pins for the buttonholes that arrive with only one... try to get it stay on straight without two! Spare cufflinks for the best man with amnesia! And much more...
Why all this? We want you to be as relaxed as we can make you so that being shot photographically doesn't feel like a firing squad! We want you to laugh at us and not have to force it.
Oh... we'll also come to your rehearsal (just the ceremony... you don't have to feed us twice...) to meet your officiant and bridal party and family members. The rules of photography in houses of worship suddenly become a little more relaxed if we can discuss them with a minister, priest, rabbi, etc, prior to the event. And it's so much easier for everyone if they know our names; if we are not the "photographers". Those sometimes intimidating people with large cameras pointed at you yelling "SMILE". Not us!
So... it's not just pictures. It's a complete service designed to be user friendly on the day and to produce the images, photographic and video, that you always imagined you would have. Different for every couple, which is why there is no "cookie-cutter" service here. Each day is designed with the special couple (you!) in mind and photographically planned with your input (usually when we meet to take those "test-shots"... on location). We'll have you where you want to be, when you want to be there... .and if you like that cocktail hour food, we'll work out a schedule so that you don't miss a bite!
It's not just pictures... it's a client relationship that works... so you look good in your photos... not like you're about the kill the photographer.
It's not just pictures... it's your pictures. Pictures of all those beautiful details you planned. Pictures in color. Pictures in black and white. Six hundred pictures or more.
It's video... without bright lights... with small, unobtrusive cameras (those big jobs don't take higher quality images... they just make you look like you know what you're doing...). You truly don't know it's happening!
And your video is an edited masterpiece about an hour long that you can actually watch with your friends without being embarrassed. Or having them consult their watches on a regular basis!
